Visitor

Visitors are foreign nationals coming to Canada for a short period of time. By default, they may stay in Canada for six months each time if there is no date fixed by a Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officer at the port of entry. Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents can apply for a super visa, which allows them to stay in Canada for up to two years each time.

If the duration of their stay has been fixed by a CBSA officer, they must leave Canada by the end of the authorized stay.

They cannot work or study unless they are authorized to do so.
